Dear Go Classy,
Bev and I just returned from Desire Cancun.
We are sending you this report while the
"glow" is still fresh and the smiles are
still on our faces. This is the 5th time
we have been to this Resort and we were
curious to see if the management was
keeping this property at the same level
they had in the past. We can assure you
that they keep this Resort spotless and
always in good repair. My wife commented
to me about the glass walls that protect
the pool and Spa area from Sea breezes.
Those walls are thoroughly cleaned and
polished each day. The public restrooms
near the pool and front office are serviced
full time by staff members who also care.
Our room was located on the far end of the
property. This means we were forced to walk
a full 1 minute to the main pool and
restaurant area. Our room category was
"Garden View", yet we could look out at the
beautiful Sea. We were given a room with
a king bed. Some have queen beds. Ask at
check in time if you have a preference.
We loved this room and we wrote down it's
number so we can try to get it again.
Our housekeeping girl kept us stocked with
plenty of coffee supplies, bottled water,
plus enough towels to get through each day.
Air conditioner, Cable television, all
the comforts of home. This is a smaller
Resort than some you may have visited.
I think they have 100 rooms. They
accommodate those 200 "Sun Worshippers"
in the following manner. The management
now provides 50 Palapas along the beach
area. Each one of these are numbered
and can be reserved for your pleasure.
Beverly and I prefer the pool area. We
can stroll out each morning and select a
lounge chair near a shade umbrella in
most any area around the main pool.
Approximately one half of the guests
choose the beach and the other half
choose the pool. Each of these areas
are busy, but not over full. Drink
service in either area is great. The
young lady who served us was perfect.
We gave her the proper credit when we
filled out our comment cards at the end
of our stay. All new hi-quality pool
furniture was unpacked and put around the
pool while> we were there. Wow !
Breakfast. The El Arrecife, (main
restaurant) is waiting and ready to
start my day right. If I am in the mood
for an omelet, I go for it. The other
choices include> cereals fruits and
various pastries.> After 2 eggs over-easy
and some well done bacon. I am ready
for the day. Lunch. Served next to the
pool and it is awesome. Fish, burgers,
and salads. Lots of other extras and
don't forget the ice cream. 2 flavors
each day. Dinner. Three choices
1. El Arrecife, 2. IL Paicere 3.Suki.
None of these require a reservation.
This first come first serve system works
great. We met each night at 7:30 and
were seated each of those nights without
delay. Warning ! Men are required to wear
slacks in some of these special classy
atmosphere restaurants. As I said earlier,
this is our 5th visit to this Resort.
Beverly and I both think the quality of
food served is as good as we have ever
been offered a> any Caribbean Resort,
Bar none ! The Disco, High energy and
very popular each night. Before the Disco
opens, live music is furnished next to
the Mélange bar. This music always plays
until 10 PM, which is when the Disco opens.
Couples who are searching for a destination
that offers good weather, a sexy atmosphere
and the finest quality food will not be
disappointed with this> Resort. We have
been to both Desire Resorts and we love
them both, but somehow> Cancun is our
favorite. One more thing....Thank you for
suggesting Lomas Transportation for the
airport shuttle service. They were very
courteous and on time !> > As always, we
love your Go-Classy service,
Jim & Beverly
